Converted Chimeras
As part of the Mechanised Veterans army, I built a few more Chimera troop carriers. I have quite a few already so I wanted to make these look a little different.
The first uses Chapterhouse Studios wheeled conversion kit.
The second is based on a conversion done by one of the regulars on The Ammobunker forum, Old Guard.

Mechanised Veterans
I've recently added a new army to my collection, a Mechanised Veteran Imperial Guard army.
It consists of 3 squads of Veteran guardsmen in Chimeras, 2 squads are armed with meltaguns, 1 with plasma rifles.
The HQ unit has 2 plasmaguns and a heavy flamer in a Chimera
These are backed up by a regular infantry platoon, the platoon HQ rides in another Chimera, and carries 4 flamers. 2 squads, each with an autocannon and a grenade launcher often go into battle in a Valkyrie and a Vendetta.
Depending on the size of game I have some firepower options. This is what I fielded in the most recent game vs Tyranids.
A Leman Russ Punisher, a Griffon self propelled mortar for indirect fire support and a Leman Russ battle tank. Unfortunately, these guys do tend to suffer heavy casualties in my games. The last game against the Tyranids saw me losing against a force consisting of Mycetic Spores, a nicely sculpted Tervigon seen below, a winged Hive Tyrant, Genestealers, Carnifexes, Tyranid Warriors, and a few Termagants.
